Adrian Fisk 19s work has featured in the world 19s top current-affairs periodicals, from National Geographic and the Financial Times Weekend Magazine to Vanity Fair, Paris Match, Stern and The Economist. In 2007 he was identified as one of 18The World 19s Top Photographers 19 in the book published by Rotovision. He was born in 1970 and grew up in Devon, the UK. After graduating with a degree in photography from Blackpool and Flyde College he moved to London where he spent the next five years documenting youth counter-culture against the 1990s socio-political backdrop of environmental protests, illegal raves and anti-globalization. He went on to work for advertising and design agencies such as Saatchi & Saatchi, JWT and BMP DDB for clients including Nikon, Vodafone and other major international brands. He moved to India in 2003, where his work has provided an anthropological and political visual analysis of South Asia during a unique period of growth, and where he has continued to explore the theme of youth.

Synopsis:
This short doc looks at the traditional cultural practice in South India of Tonsure, the act of sacrificing ones hair to a Hindu deity and the business that surrounds this practice. The film then takes us on a journey from the tonsure halls of Tirupati to the hair processing factories in Eluru several hundred kilometers away. Thus giving a fascinating insight into the origins of wigs and hair extensions.
